PICTURE MATCH
We encourage the child to participate in basic picture matching activities on lotto boards (simple drawings of a range of objects) e.g. trampoline to trampoline, teddy to teddy etc... The skills of observation and focusing are being developed. (Some children might not need to complete this stage, as they have plenty of experience of this exercise in school).

Through questioning and listening the teacher can assess the child's comprehension of the object, e.g. "Show me the train" and "What noise does it make?"
