COMMUNICATION
The book has been specially designed to appeal to children; it incorporates visual images that they can relate to in everyday life. It helps to promore oral communication on an uncomplicated level. The child is asked to identify an object and can respond to the request by saying, or signing its function e.g picture of a car the child demonstrates a car moving and may say "car" or make "vroom" sound.
The adult is creating an interesting and postive pre-reading experience. The child can experience a one to one relationship with an adult in a situation where they can develop their observation, listening and focusing skills in a structured environment.
